In providing answers to the questions below, we thought it best to allow the Grail Message to speak for itself. Clearly, on a medium like this, we cannot provide everything that the Grail Message says about each question, neither do we wish nor intend to do so. For each question, therefore, we have simply provided a set of sample excerpts we consider to be relevant from the Grail Message. We call the attention of the reader to this fact and re-emphasize that what is provided here is only an excerpt and not the entire answer, which the reader must build for himself or herself from the Grail Message.
The Grail Message must be examined in its entirety! The individual must complete the answer to each question for himself or herself by examining the Grail Message. It is only through such an examination that the different pieces of the picture can be put together into a complete picture. In this regard, the Author of the Grail Message says encouragingly:

The whole of Creation is the Language of God, which you should earnestly strive to read, and which is by no means as difficult as you may think.
You earthmen are in this Creation to find supreme happiness! In the Living Language which God speaks to you! And to understand this Language, to learn it, and to sense inwardly the Will of God in it, that is your goal during your journey through Creation. In Creation itself, to which you belong, lies the explanation of the purpose of your existence, and at the same time also the recognition of your goal! In no other way can you find either.
This demands of you that you live Creation. But you are only able to live or experience it when you really know it.
With my Message I now open the Book of Creation for you! The Message clearly shows you the Language of God in Creation, which you must learn to understand so that you can make it completely your own.

What is Death?
"Thus it also happens that the soul must separate from a body which has been forcibly destroyed, ruined by disease or weakened by old age, at the very moment when this body, owing to its changed condition, can no longer produce that strength of radiation which brings about such a magnetic power of attraction as is necessary to play its part in the firm union between soul and body!
This results in earthly death, or the falling back, the falling away of the gross material body from the ethereal covering of the spirit, thus in separation. This is a process which takes place, in accordance with firmly-established Laws, between two species which only unite at an exactly corresponding degree of heat through the radiation simultaneously produced, but which can never blend, and which fall apart again when one of the two different species can no longer fulfill the condition laid upon it."

What is spirit?
"Spirit is not wit, and not intellect! Nor is spirit acquired knowledge. It is erroneous, therefore to call a person 'rich in spirit' because he has studied, read and observed much and knows how to converse well about it. Or because his brilliance expresses itself through original ideas and intellectual wit.
Spirit is something entirely different. It is an independent consistency, coming from the world of its homogeneous species, which is different from the part to which the earth and thus the physical body belong. The spiritual world lies higher, it forms the upper and lightest part of Creation.…
Spirit has nothing to do with the earthly intellect, only with the quality that is described as 'deep inner feeling' ('Gemuet' in German). To be rich in spirit, therefore, is the same as 'having deep inner feelings' ('gemuetvoll' in German), but not the same as being highly intellectual."

On reincarnation and fate
"… one of the principal mistakes so many people make is that they only judge according to gross matter, regarding themselves as the centre therein, and taking into consideration one earth-life, whereas in reality they already have several earth-lives behind them. These, as well as the intervening times in the Ethereal World, are equal to one uniform existence, through which the threads are tightly stretched without breaking, so that in the effects of a particular earthly existence only a small part of these threads therefore become visible." ….

[To provide some clarification, we add that by "thread" is meant an actual "karmic thread" or "thread of fate" binding the individual to the fruits of his or her thoughts, words and actions. Detailed explanations of this are also contained in the Grail Message.]
On karma or fate
"Now if a person has cultivated within himself an honest good volition, it follows that also the layer surrounding him will be of a like nature. Returning reciprocal actions of an evil nature, dating from former times, are now held up by this layer opposing them, and diverted or absorbed and disintegrated before they are able to strike the person himself; they are thus either completely eliminated or at least considerably weakened, so that through his earnest good volition he has thereby received forgiveness for the former evil."
